Great article from Scientific American on studies of the mental processes of chess players. Reminds me of Ford Prefect's advice to Arthur Dent on how to fly: just forget to hit the ground. With chess- just forget the bad moves!

  1. see malcolm Gladwells outliers for a expansion....seems that genius really is just good practice....practice does not make perfect as my golfing experience of fourth year medical school can attest to....perfect practice makes perfect..diligence, effort....shame really
